  5. ZIPFILE NAME:   The NAME of the file you will CREATE or WHICH HAS BEEN 
  6.                 CREATED, that contains the compressed files you specified. 
  7.                 If no Path is specified, the file will be created or sought 
  8.                 in current subdirectory.  To create this file on another 
  9.                 drive or subdirectory, specify the DRIVE and SUBDIRECTORY.  
  10.                           
  11.                           (eg.:  b:\sub1\zipfile)  
  12.                                    
  13.                     THE EXTENSION (".ZIP") IS UNNECESSARY.
  14.                     
  15.  
  16. FILE(S) TO BE EXTRACTED FROM ZIPFILE or ZIPPED:  
  17.                 The default is ALL FILES FILES (*.*).  You may use wildcards 
  18.                 such as ? or *, or list the files singly.  If listing the 
  19.                 file(s) for ZIPPPING, include the path for each (if they are 
  20.                 not in current subdirectory), and separate each file from the 
  21.                 next with a space.
  22.                 (eg.:  FILE1.TXT FILE2.* FIL???.* \SUB2\FILE3 .....etc.)

  24. DESTINATION DIRECTORY:  When extracting files from a ZIPFILE, you can 
  25.                 specify a different DRIVE or SUBDIRECTORY than the current 
  26.                 one for the destination.   
  27.                 
  28. DIRECTORY VIEW:  This option allows you to VIEW and/or SET the default 
  29.                 subdirectory.  If you did not change to the desired subdir-
  30.                 ectory prior to invoking EZIP or via the command line 
  31.                 parameter, (ie.;  "EZIP C:\util\sub2\") then you may select
  32.                 the subdirectory via this option.

  34. CONVERT ZIPFILE into Self-Extracting FILE:  
  35.                 This option creates a second copy of the ZIPFILE, but this new
  36.                 file has an ".EXE" extension and does not require PKUNZIP to
  37.                 create (extract) copies of the files it contains.  In this 
  38.                 format, all you do is type the file name and it will create 
  39.                 copies of all the files it contains in the current directory.  
  40.                 Why not do this to all .zip files?  In this format, the file 
  41.                 cannot be viewed without first unpacking it.  Also, the file 
  42.                 is larger as a '.EXE' file than as a ".ZIP". Use this option 
  43.                 to transfer zipfiles to friends who don't have PKZIP/PKUNZIP.  
  44.  
  45. CONVERT '.EXE'=> '.ZIP':
  46.                 Converts a self-extracting zipfile back into a normal zipfile.  
  47.                 EZIP cannot view the contents of a self-extracting zipfile 
  48.                 until it has been converted back into a '.zip' file.  This 
  49.                 option deletes the original '.EXE' file but you can always 
  50.                 create another one later using the "ZIP-to-EXE" conversion.  
  51.                 
  52. Other Useful Options:  
  53.                 This option pulls down a submenu with the following features:
  54.                 'R'   to display the EZIPMAN.DOC file
  55.                 'M'   to make/create a new directories
  56.                 'H'   to display THIS file.
  57.                 'A'   to add ZIPFILE comments either directly from the 
  58.                       keyboard, by inserting a previously-created ASCII text
  59.                       file, or using an external text editor.
  60.                 'S'   Strip ZIPFILE comments
  61.                 'C'   Contact the author.  All information you need to send
  62.                       me your comments electronically or through the mail.

  64. STRIP ZIPFILE COMMENTS:
  65.                 Some zipfiles downloaded from bulletin boards contain com-
  66.                 ments (Like the BBS Logo.) that display whenever you view the 
  67.                 file.  If these comments interfere with the display select this 
  68.                 option.  Note:  Zip Comments added with the Shareware utility 
  69.                 program PKINSERT use a character that DOS recognizes as the 
  70.                 END-OF-FILE (ASCII #26).  This tricks some editors into 
  71.                 believing they've reached the end of the file prematurely 
  72.                 (ex:  DOS 5.0 Edit, MS-Write, WordPerfect).
